Gardens, community, and the people they bring together.
Thoughtful garden design, writing, and community work exploring how gardens shape connection and the places we call home.
A few years ago, I planted a front yard garden because I wanted more flowers in my life.
What I didn’t expect was how much it would change the way I understand community.
Neighbors started stopping to talk.
And slowly, something simple started happening…connection began forming in a space that was originally just meant for plants.
That experience changed the direction of my work.
Gardens are never just about plants.
They're about creating a place you want to spend time in.
A place that reflects what matters to you.
A place that supports birds and pollinators.
A place that welcomes neighbors, family, and everyday life.
I help homeowners turn ideas into thoughtful, achievable plans for meaningful outdoor spaces.
Beyond the Garden
I write a weekly publication called The Best Side of Things, where I share observations about gardens, community, and the people they bring together.
I’m also the founder of Kind Hearts Bloom, a nonprofit using gardening to build community through neighborhood growing spaces.
Because gardens don’t just grow plants. They grow opportunities for connection.
Looking for fresh local flowers?
CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) flower subscriptions and DIY Flower Buckets are now available directly through Kind Hearts Bloom - and 100% of those funds go to the nonprofit to support its mission.
